While many of these proposed definition changes are commendable, the proposed new definition of a group home would preclude staff from living with those with developmental disabilities. I am a member of L’Arche Metro Richmond and the community we envision and value is one of sharing life together as assistants (staff) and core members (those with developmental disabilities). This way of life together is at the heart of our mission and has been so for over 50 years in the worldwide L’Arche community. Please reconsider this definition!
