I emphatically support the petition to amend the rules so that firearm carry is allowable on state forest property. Law-abiding men and women who are licensed to carry firearms should not carry the burden of finding them selves unarmed in a moment of need simply because they're in the woods. We are responsible for our actions while armed in the many places throughout the state where we're currently allowed to carry our firearms. Our conduct will not change just because we're in the Forest. There is no compelling reason whatsoever that our rights should stop at the boarder of the grounds.
