I am strongly opposed.  The technical ability of placing an IV catheter isn't difficult.  Many assistants are potentially capable of placing IVC correctly.  However; how do we regulate this?  What is the quality control?  How is this encouraging people to further their education?  How is this helping with the "shortage of LVTs"?  I see no other way to ensure proper training other than a degree and licensing.  This is taking a step backward.
