I oppose this petition as it diminishes the concept of professionalism in the ranks of true licensed technicians. More  concerning for me is the level of care and trust I feel at my vet clinic when my precious pet's care is at stake. I need to know that there is a standard set of expertise and operating procedures that is, at least,met by the licensing  process. I cannot assume that a "trained" assistant has met these standards, and I will now, forever, always ask if the person performing such procedures on my pup is licensed.
