As a practicing veterinarian who owns a mixed animal practice in Virginia I stongly support an amendment to allow trained assistants to place IV catheters.  I feel this would help to increase the quality of care provided to patients in a timely manner.  There are not enough LVTs to staff all the current facilities.  This change would allow veterinarians to efficiently delegate proceedures and provide better care to all animals.
