Strongly OPPOSE!! LVT

Strongly oppose this amendment! Many have mentioned they agree but only if a doctor can supervise. I fail to see how that utilizes staff more appropriately. Many have also menioned this amendment is needed as L.V.T.'s are in short supply... I wonder why?! Could it be our pay is inadequate as we have unlicensed personnel performing our jobs for lower pay? Could an L.V.T. shortage be due to the fact that the position of a LICENSED technician is undervalued as UN -licensed personnel are performing our jobs without the FULL knowledge of what they are doing and often times have NO knowledge of WHY they are doing what they are doing? I used to practice as an unlicensed tech. When I went to school I was shocked at how many mistakes I was making and how many patients I potentially harmed - all under the "supervision" of a DVM. I had no idea about ischemia and potential ischemia to the trachea if the cuff was blown up too much - just as an example.  I just feel this is a slippery slope and another step to lowering standards when it comes to veterinary healthcare.
