I strongly support the admendment of non-licensed veterinary techs. on IVC placement. These techs are more than the average layman. They are smart, incredibly well educated (minus the degree) capable and trustworthy! I managed a wonderful group of non-licensed techs and would not trade them for a newly graduated LVT. I also understand how important LVTs are to a practice and appluade those who are able to attain a college degree. I do not see how patient care would be compromised by non-licensed techs placing an iv cath as long as they are properly trained. No one likes to get their toes stepped on but  I could find more things to argue about than this.
