I fully support this petition to allow unlicensed veterinary technicians to place iv catheters under the supervision of a veterinarian. I would hope that if I'm ever in the position where I have bring my dog to my vet in an emergency, the whole staff can be utilized and is competent to get the emergency treatment going for the Veterinarian. I also trust my vet to know which staff members are capable of placing iv catheters and which ones are not. Let this option be the individual hospitals choice. I also don't believe this devalues veterinary care or LVT's. If anything, it increases the level of care and LVT's will still be needed in the veterinary feild. It's not about "why bother going away to school, when you can do  certain things without a license", it's about whats the best for my dog, when I bring him into my vet.
