I strongly support the placement of IV catheters by non licensed technicians when supervised by the doctor. Even in northern Virginia, there is a shortage of LVT staff in the primary care field. The regulation on placement of IV catheters by only veterinarians and LVTs causes a decline and delay in patient care due the lack of appropriate staffing.
