I so not believe e that only licensed veterinary technicians and doctors should be responsible for the placement of iv catheters. Many unlicensed vet techs have worked in the field for many years, have alot of knowledge, and have helped train countless vet techs who are in school. Alot of practices do have liceased vet techs, it mean the doctor would be pulled from other duties to place a catheter. ..doesn't seem pratical.
