State Forest firearm carry -- YES!

Laws are for people willing to live within the law.  Prohibiting the carry of guns -- prohibiting the farming of marijuana, prohibiting rape, robbery and murder -- in state forests ...  only the people who care about laws will obey them. It is absurd and intolerable when a government restricts the behavior of those who do NOT intend violence as a panacea, a catchall, under the excuse of "controlling crime." The presence of a gun doesn't turn a good person into a monster. The absence of a gun can leave them vulnerable to a monster.  The absence of a gun doesn't turn a monster into a tolerant, harmless human being.

The Second Amendment isn't about hunting, target shooting or even crime prevention. It's about individual responsibility for one's safety and, yes, survival when faced by any threat any time anywhere.  Armed self-defense is the most basic human right; without it, the others can be taken by anyone with a pointed object and a whim.
