While I fully appreciate and support the training of LVTs, there just are not enough working in the clinics.  I believe that if a doctor has trained an unlicensed person to place a catheter and they feel comfortable with that person's performance, the unlicensed person should be allowed to place a catheter if directed to do so, especially in an emergency situation.
