Veterinarian in charge

Inserting an IV catheter is a learned skill, which can be taught by any Veterinarian--it is not something that requires hours of classroom study and many hours of observation, like anesthesia. Prior to the advent of LVTs, we ( Veterinarians) taught our staff members to set up IV catheters for years, with no problems. I fear that this issue will be strongly opposed by LVTs because they feel ownership. They have many skills that non LVTs are not licensed to perform, more than enough to keep busy and they will not lose income by non licensed individuals performing catheter placement.
