I think this amendment is unnecessary and while there can be argued that a shortage of LVT's is the reason, I think the effects would be far more reaching. LVT's have worked hard to earn their license and also a higher wage than an assistant. I feel that there are many potential hospitals, especially corporate that would take advange of this loophole and would be able to hire a layperson rather than pay a fair wage to someone that has earned it and deserves it. Its not the direction that our profession wants to be headed in. And its more than placing a cathether -- it represents lowering the standard for what we expect from our LVT's
