Do not support. Value patient care and the LVT education/degree/responsibility

I do NOT support this measure. Having LVTs is an important advocate for patient care. I have worked places where non LVTs placed catheters and too often saw problems that diminished patient care with no accountability. Support of this measure takes us back a step in veterinary medicine and patient care. As a practice owner who holds my LVTs to a very high standard and as someone who knows how hard it can be to find good help, I sympathize with those having difficulty. But I can also say that those having difficulty getting LVTs are those who refuse to acknowledge they are worth their weight in gold, that they should be paid a living wage and that they should be highly valued. My LVTs are held accountable for their actions (much more difficult to do with unlicensed personnel), and allow me to be FAR more productive and provide FAR better patient care than I could be without them. It's a win all around.  -Kayleen Gloor, DVM
