I am an assistant who has been through and graduated vet tech school. I am not licensed yet. I feel everyone needs to have adequately completed a formal training program on placing IV catheters before being able to. Years of experience has a huge factor over a new student tech but years of assisting isn't years of experience placing catheters. I can't support allowing an unlicensed person doing it
