Strongly oppose! Respect education and LTV'S!!

I see we have two different perspectives, the DMV'S and the LTV'S. I have been a veterinary assistant for almost three years now and I would like to voice my opinion. I know for a fact I would never ever wish to have the capability of placing a catheter in an animal without a license. Why are we actually considering this? Are LTV'S now allowed the capabilities of preforming surgery? Are DVM'S now allowed to practice on humans? I figure this answer was no! So why doesn't the system apply in this circumstance? You have to have a license to own a gun or drive correct? Are people now allowed to own a gun and drive without one? We wouldn't want this would we? I think all veterinary assistants would agree that this is completely insane and against our ethics! We love animals and want what's best for them! Allowing licensed individuals to care for them and "assistanting them" is OUR job! Our job never entails work that an LTV is there for and this includes placing catheters in animals! We need to respect education  and we need to love, support, and respect our LTV'S!
