Not only is this degrading to those who put themselves through Veterinary Technician school, but it is also a liability for someone who is uneducated to be performing such a task. By allowing assistants to place IV catheters, we are pushing out veterinary technician jobs. Would you allow someone completely uneducated to place an IV catheter in you??
