I find it ludicrous that persons having the lawful right to carry firearms, whether concealed or openly carried, should not be allowed to exercise that right in our state forests.  These are lands are owned by the people of the Commonwealth and it is those same people who have been given the right, and responsibility, to own firearms by both the Commonwealth and the Federal governments.  It is the responsibility of the elected government to protect the property entrusted to it and to protect the rights of its citizens.  Denying this petition is a failure of the current government in both of those areas.
