I believe Virginia has the potential to be energy independent by 2050, if we decided to we could be at 50% renewables by 2030 so we can definitely hit 30% by 2030.  We need to reach this goal if not pass it in order to lead the national charge to energy independence.  The competition for business this will drive will give us more and more enrgy choices.  Plus if we become less dependent on non renewables we can increase Virginia's security as well by allocating more tax dollars to police and other first responders.  Virignia can be at the forefront of energy indepence if we hit this goal and even exceed it.
