I fully support the lawful carrying of handguns in the state forests. I am suprised, considering our Commonwealth's constitution, that this is even necessary. However, I think all lawful citizens of our Commonwealth should be able to defend themselves against those who would do them harm. This especially applies those those citizens who have taken the time and expense to receive concealed carry permits. Many years ago, I worked in the Norfolk jail for several years and one things for sure, If a criminal even thinks you might be armed, they pick another target. Yes, they readily admit that in jail. There are still those few,however, that will still attack their victims. In these cases, it is a matter of life or death that the victim be able to defend themselves. Please keep our Commonwealth safer by letting people defend themselves.
