"Dry needling" is a pseudonym for acupuncture. Physical therapists use that term in order to get around the laws that require a license to practice acupuncture. If physical therapists want to use acupuncture or "dry needling" in their practice they need to receive proper training and licensure in acupuncture for the safety and protection of the public.
