Dry needling is acupuncture.  Each state has devoloped legislation for acupuncture.  Physical therapists in Virginia do not have a scope of practice that includes acupucture or invasive techniques such as inserting a needle 5" into the body.  Why should they be allowed to do this without training?  Calling this practice something other than acupuncture does not change the fact that it is acupuncture.
