Advocate for Dry Needling by PT

5yrs ago I was rear ended while sitting still totally my car. I went through months of therapy and after continued loss of range of motion in my shoulder dry needling sessions were done by my PT. They were the perfect answer and after about two months of treatments my shoulder pain was gone and my range of motion returned. This was after 6 months of traditional PT with limited results. PT's are highly trained medical professionals and dry needling is not acupuncture but a valid resource which should remain available to PT to treat patients. I don't want to imagine the long term pain and limitations I would have to endure if my PT was not allowed to provide this service to me. PT regulations and education requirements make them more than competent to continue providing dry needling. I have three other friends with similar stories to mine so I know it was not a fluke that dry needling by my PT was the right medical choice and remedy.
