I have been practicing physical therapy for 9 years and have been practicing TDN for 4 of those years. The results I have been receiving for my patients are outstanding. The statement that PTs do not have enough training or education are poorly guided statements. We are viewed by society and the medical realm as the muskuloskeletal specialists. We have direct access that allows patients to seek our care without the need of a physician's referral. We go through an extensive educational curriculum heavily detailed in anatomy with in-depth cadaver dissection. PTs are required to go through additional training to be able to practice TDN and must exhibit the ability to safely implement the technique before being allowed to practice within the clinic. PTs should be able to continue practicing TDN to reduce the overuse of surgery and narcotic medication to fix an issue that could be effectively treated by PTs with TDN.
