I oppose PT to perform dry needling. The reasons are as follows,

1. In my home town in South of China, acupuncture is called dry needling for thousands of years. Dry needling is 100% acupuncture and is performed by an acupuncturist. PTs steal acupuncture techniques and name it with a different name: Dry needling.

2. To be an acupuncturist, it is compulsory to complete 1800 hours courses and 300 hours clinical training. PTs do NOT meet this criteria.

3. By law, PTs are NOT allowed to perform invasive therapy, including dry needling (acupuncture), in their scope of practice.

Therefore, in terms of conflict of interest, qualification, and law, PTs should be restricted from dry needling practices.
