Acupuncture and Dry Needling are 2 different things-Do NOT allow PT dry needling. It is a risk to pu

Acupuncuncture is an ancient science learned in the states over a four-year period of study. Hundreds of hours are spent in clinc alone. Please do not allow PT's to perform dry needling. Dry needling is absolutely not acupuncture. Chinese Medicine, which includes acupuncture, herbs, cupping, massage, nutrition, gua sha and more is Internal Medicine. Organ systems are assessed through a special pulse reading and then treated. Based on the idea of creating internal balance, acupuncture treats the whole person. PT's are not qualified to practice anything remotely like acupuncture. Dry needling is painful as countless patients have reported to me over the years. Allowing PTs to perform dry needling creates public confusion as well as a public safety issue. No matter how you look at it, dry needling by PTs is completely inapproriate and unsafe. Thank you!
