Yes to PT's doing Dry Needling

As a competitive long distance runner for over two decades I've endured many sport related injuries and in turn participated in numerous types of therapy to recover or stay healthy. I have done both Acupuncture and Dry Needling with my PT. Dry needling is far more effective in releasing my muscle tension and helps me avoid injury overall now. Acupuncture has not provided the same. It does not get as deep into the muscle and is not manipulated by the acupuncturist in the same way. I hope those making a decision about this practice take into consideration the difference between the two and how much dry needling can help athletes like myself.
