PT support for dry needling

I as a licensed physical therapist for 12 years and getting my accreditation training to utilize needles to help get my clients better, this would be a disservice to the healthcare community to not allow this tool.  It has been shown in multiple states practice acts that this a skill set that PTs can learn and perform as part of their skill set.  Doctorate trained PTs have extensive knowledge on anatomy compared to acupuncturist and has been shown to be a low risk tool when used appropriately.  There is a place in medicine for both providers to practice what they are trained to do as it used for completely different reasons.  I encourage the committee to look at what is best for the consumers seeking healthcare and not get involved in the "turf battles" that develop on a tool which mulitple providers can utilize to help clients.
