Support for Dry Needling.

Dry needling is an important technique for Physical Therapists to use. PTs are now required to receive their Doctorate of Physical Therapy. On top of this certification, they also recieve specific training in dry needling wth different levels to it. In my opinion, this makes them more than qualified to perform dry needling. However, still ultimately, it is the pateint's choice to receive dry needling and if you are against it you have the choice to say no. I think patient's deserve the right to do their own research and come to the conclusion on whether or not this techinque is best for them. Your PT should already be someone you trust to heal your body and if you trust them with that responsibility you should trust them to dry needle. As a patient, dry needling helped relieve me of chronic lower back pain and next time I am home on break I would love to still be able to receive this treatment. I see no logical reason against PTs using dry needling.
