Patient first

Much too often we have medical disciplines trying to dip their hands into other scopes of other medical practices. I work with a PT who respects what I do and we work together to provide the best care we can give with the skills we learned in school. Please don't tell me that after 75k to 100k in student loan debt for a Masters degree in TCM (Acupuncture), a PT can just go to a a couple weekend seminars and puncture skin with a needle. It has never been in their scope? Why now? It seems that acupuncture has been on the quackery list for some time but now that research and data is showing promising results, the rest of the medical community wants to take it, spin it and define it as their own.  Just imagine how the PT community would react if the Acupuncture or other medical practitioners began practicing in the PT's scope of practice? We are not asking for much. It's simple, let us do what we studied and paid to do and let us all work integratively to provide the patient with the best opportunity to improve health and well being!
