I support the petition to allow firearms into Va State Forests. Considering the incidents of attack in the past on folks, and the lack of funding in the state budget for more law enforcement, people should be allowed to protect themselves.
Criminals have never obeyed laws, hence, they're criminals. The only person those rules, and regulations affect are law-bidding citizens, none of whom would do any harm to any thing in the park unless their lives were in danger.
Heller v D.C. allowed for the keeping of a firearm for self-defense in the District of Columbia. I think protecting one's self in a forest would take precedence considering the response time for a ranger is in HOURS, not MINUTES!
