As a father, I would rather take my daughter to an acupuncturist who has been extensively trained on how to safely and effectively use the needles instead of a PT who has only gone through 50-hr training.  And in addition, the needles they use are acupuncture needles which were designed as one of many tools used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Besides getting the acupuncture treatment, my daughter has also been getting the herbs from the acupuncturist, which has drastically improved her condition compared to just acupuncture by itself at the beginning.
