Dry needling is a part of acupuncture as it has been practiced for over 2000 years. As a Acupuncturist, we studied more than 3 years to understand, to be trained how acupuncture works and how to protect public safety and consumers.  in Virginia acupuncturists are required to have at least 1,365 hours of acupuncture-specific training, if PTS will do dry needling, they should be trained same hours with acupuncturist to protect patients safety and effectiveness.
