Dry needling= Acupuncture Rebranded Without Knowledge

I have deep reservations and concerns with the practice of dry needling from a patients perspective.  Over the course of many years with various methodologies and forms of treatment from receiving PT to osteopathic manipulation to chiropractic manipulation to massage therapy, acupressure and  Accupuncture.  I find it unbelievable that a PT would basically be allowed to practice what is essentially Accupuncture by another name.

I know that when I receive Accupuncture it accesses a sort of electrified healing system for the body.   If PT's are allowed to utilize this system to provide relief or release without the knowledge or education of how this systems relation to internal organs and the brain this will be very dangerous to the population therefore causing undue harm to the credibility of acupuncture.

I typically see PT's juggling multiple patients in some of their practices and now to have needles around and the lack of undivided attention, NO WAY!   I see that the licensing board should be found for negligence in the first case of anyone contracting a disease.  As a patient I will never go to a PT office that allowed dry needling and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about the potential harms this would present.

I want an acupuncturist with extensive education and the careful setting in which to receive this therapy.   For each of the practitioners I mentioned above they are all specialized in their respective fields each one has it's own place but now one group wants to rebrand and take the skills from a long tradition and understanding of another methodology without any of the skills, or knowledge.  If this is allowed what is the point of licensure?
