Dry Needling is acupuncture, and therefore should not be utilized by Physical Therapists

Dry needling is a method that is used by acupuncturists for treatment purposes. It is supposed to be under acupuncture regulation. Physical therapists are not acupuncturists. They shouldnt practice acupuncture methods without proper acupuncture training. It is difficult for patients to distinguish correct dry needling methods and incorrect ones and the people in power should make it to protect them from the incorrect methods. In order to practice acupuncture you must undergo rigorous training and take an examination to deem you are qualified. Phyical therapists do not have these qualifications and should not use dry needling methods.
