As a law-abiding female citizen of Virginia, I believe that I have the right to carry my firearm to protect myself if need be.  State forests should not be a place where I am more at risk from human predators than any other public place.  Bad actors are not going to be bound by a proscription on guns in VA state forests - only the law-abiding will.  Keep the good guys on a level playing field.
