Thank you for making our state safer

Dear Governor McAuliffe,

Thank you for taking a stand on gun violence and helping to make us safer in Virginia. There is no reason that people should bring weapons into any public building; doing so makes people feel threatened and intimidated. People who are not representatives of law enforecement should not be allowed to carry weapons beyond their own property- they put themselves and others at risk for gun violence. National and state statistics demonstrate that weapons in the hands of people who are not law enforcement lead to accidental deaths and violence.
