Guns in public places

As someone who has been robbed at gunpoint, I am opposed to allowing guns in federal, state, county or municipal buildings or any buildings owned by government at any level. Furthermore, I am opposed to guns inside city limits, on any school campuses, shopping malls, grocery stores, restaurants or other places frequented by the public. Guns are for hunting. Police are here for our protection. A variation of Wyatt Earp's  policy of checking your guns when you enter town and picking them up when you leave is not a bad idea.
