The Constitution guarantees every citizen within the boundaries of the United States the right to bear arms. It was not the intent of the writers to limit the carry of firearms; therefore, I strongly support the concealed carry or open carry of firearms within state parks, recreational areas, or any other public places. Unlawful acts committed by criminal individuals do not exclusively occur within the boundaries of urban society because individuals whose intent is to harm others reach into those areas in which law-abiding citizens find themselves vulnerable. Our state parks are such places. As a camper and hiker, I find the allowance of carrying a firearm in state parks imperative.
