I am in full support of the legal carry of firearms by law abiding citizens. State forests are no different than other parts of the state and can be just as dangerous. Only the hands of law abiding citizens are bound by these laws and, as such, have no way of defending themselves from those who disregard the law. Unless there is a way to guarantee the complete safety of every person who visits and enjoys the forests then I see no reason to restrict their constitutional rights (there is no reason to restrict them in the first place).
