I can not think of any valid reason why honest law abiding citizens should be excluded from being able to protect themselves from harms way on state lands. This would naturally include the ability to carry firearms for the protection of themselves as well as other innocents. The very nature of our state park lands in that they are often times isolated and far removed from normal law enforcement reinforces the need for this.
