In recent years, I have encountered individuals harvesting marijuana or conductiong other illegal drug-related activities in state forests and reported them to law enforcement.  The frequency of  the activities seem to be rising and frankly, I wouldn't want to take a hike in certain areas of our state's forests without a handgun.    When seconds count, a forest ranger, even by cellphone may be minutes away.
