Requirement for 80% program completion

The proposed regulation state that program non-completers are those who have been officially admitted into the education program and who have taken required licensure exams, and who exit the program prior to completion

  • We have very small programs and will be penalized greatly by even one student who cannot pass an exam. This places a greater penalty on small universities like ours than a larger university. It seems very drastic and a lot of work to have to cancel and then reapply for the program.
  • If an Education student changes their major after failing the Praxis II, or has life changes that require them to move to another state, or they acquire a job, this should not count against programs as non-completers
