Please consider and approve this petition.

I feel that it is vital for my safety, and that of others to allow legal carry of handguns within state parks. I often hike isolated trails in my local area, primarily First Landing. While I usually feel safe, and have not had a specific problem, two women were assaulted in First Landing along the very trail I had hiked earlier in the day.

Even if those that don't want to carry don't, criminals will have no idea who may be carrying a weapon, and will have second thoughts on committing crimes. Those same criminals are carrying in your parks now. The only difference is that legal law abiding citizens are not, and criminals know it.

Those with concealed carry permits CAN actually carry in many government buildings with few exceptions.

Allow those who wish to legally carry, do so. All of us will be safer, including those who choose not to carry. Please send this petition up and pass laws allowing carry in parks.
