As veterinary medicine becomes more advanced each day, so too should the knowledge of those performing the duties within the profession. There are more than enough opportunities to acquire continuing education throughout the year. Most CE conferences offer more hours than one can even attend, making it very possible to gain more education than is already required. Organizations such as AAHA already seek to have their members gain more CE than a state requires. There are many opportunities online and locally for those who are unable to travel to larger venues for CE. Adding two additional hours per year will not present a burden to the licensees but rather offer an opportunity to become better at the career in which we have chosen.
