Support For CACREP Standards

I support the amendment that will require applicants to be graduates of CACREP/CORE accredited counseling programs in order to be licensed as a professional counselor. I think it is extremely important that counseling programs have standards that provide consistency and meet the CACREP standards. I think these standards help produce well-rounded and knowledgeable counselors. I believe clients should be able to easily identify what standards and training their counselors have completed and CACREP accreditation can help provide that. I do not believe this amendment should impact those who are currently practicing. I think it is important to make others aware of this amendment so that they can seek out programs that meet these requirements.
