strongly and truly OPPOSED to CACREP only

Counselor Education programs should be accredited by any of the accrediting bodies that meet the standards set and approved by Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

CHEA accredits both regional and specialty accrediting organizations, including CORE and CACREP and I hope soon... the MPCAC (Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council).

Does CACREP see MPCAC as upcoming competition?  (my opinion); I'm a  PsyD from an APA accredited program;  I've identified and practiced as an LPC since 2003. I'm part of the 39% of LPC's who didn't come from a cacrep program (and not everyone is a member of ACA). Making CACREP the only reality, is in reality, closing the door to the people of other accredited programs who can bring much to our profession.
