Uphold Standards, Protect Women

Board of Health,

I would like to express my support of the previously passed abortion regulations in the state of Virginia. I feel like these regulations are in the best interest of women who are seeking abortions and they keep the abortion providers accountable for maintaining their facilities and practices in a decent way. I find it disheartening that in two years, inspections of abortion providers in Virginia have uncovered less than desirable conditions such as exam tables that were splattered in blood, incomplete lifesaving equipment, violations of parental consent for your girls, etc. There have been 300 health and safety violations...thats ridiculous. When I was pregnant, I had a conversation with my local OB/GYN and she was in support of making abortion facilities meet the same health and safety requirements of other medical facilities. She found it ludicrous that they would not be help to the same standard. I do as well. It is the least hat we can do to ensue the health and wellness of the women who are seeking abortions. I dont agree with deciding to abort a child, but I do think that for those who do make that decision, it should be as safe as possible. Thank you for your time, Talona Rogers
