I am writing to state my support of the abortion center health and safety regulations that were previously passed by the Virginia State Department of Health. I would think that anyone in favor of a womans right to have an abortion would be happy to make the facility as safe as possible. Many safety violations have been discovered due to these regulations, including unsterilized needles, insufficient lifesaving equipment, blood splatters, and violations of Virginia parental consent laws. Doorways and hallways need to be wide enough for emergency equipment, because emergencies do happen at abortion centers. I cannot believe that Planned Parenthood doesnt have the funds to bring their centers into compliance. I cannot understand why those who say they want the very best for women are not leading the charge to ensure the safety of women undergoing an abortion. Please leave the regulations in place.
